Description

This is a cottage located at 15 Sharnford Road, dating from the late 18th century, with additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and is whitewashed, featuring concrete and plain tile roofs. It has a single brick ridge stack and consists of one and two storeys with four bays.

The south front has a slightly off-centre door from the 20th century, accompanied by a small fixed light to its left. To the left of the door, there is a single casement window, followed by a two-light sliding sash window, both with segmental heads. To the right of the door, there is a two-light casement window. On the upper floor, there are a two-light casement and a single casement window. To the left, there is a single-storey addition that features a glazed door, flanked on the left by a close boarded door and on the right by a 20th-century casement window.

The rear of the cottage has a rendered plinth and two three-light casement windows with segmental heads. Above these, to the left, is a 20th-century casement window, and to the right, there is a three-light casement window from the 19th century. The gable end facing the street has a two-light casement window on each floor.

Inside, the cottage features two chamfered ceiling beams, one of which has stops, and a fireplace bressummer. There is also a single 18th-century two-panel door. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
