MATERIALS: cast-iron.

PLAN: the milestone has a triangular plan form.

DESCRIPTION: the milestone has a triangular base, painted white. It features the Royal Coat of Arms of Queen Victoria and maker’s plaque to the front elevation. The base of the milestone bears an inscription reading, on the left face: TO / LEICESTER / 10 / MILES; and on the right face /TO / HINCKLEY / 4 / MILES.
