Description
This is a pair of tombstones located 10 metres southeast of the south porch of St Michael's Church. They date from the early 18th century and are made of stone. The tombstones consist of two thick slabs; the western faces are plain, while the eastern faces feature decorative elements. The northern tombstone is adorned with scrolled swan-neck pediments filled with acanthus leaves and has rusticated pilaster strips on the sides, with a partially legible inscription that reads, "Here lyeth ye body of David ....". The southern tombstone has half shafts with Corinthian capitals on the sides, but its inscription is completely illegible. These tombstones are included for their group value.
