Description
Homestead Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of painted red brick with brick dressings and features a plain tile roof, which has brick coped gables and kneelers, along with two brick gable stacks and a brick ridge stack. The building has a continuous band at the first floor level and consists of two storeys with four bays.
The east side has a glazed panelled door set beneath a flat arch, and next to it is a glazing bar 2-light casement window, also under a similar arch. There are two additional similar windows on the west side, and above these, there are four more similar windows, although their flat arches are partly obscured by a later gutter. The casements have stone sills and are likely from the 19th century.
Inside, the farmhouse features an open-welled staircase with splat balusters, oak plank doors, and inglenook fireplaces, which have cupboards on either side in the central room.
