Description

Chapel House Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, with a 19th-century addition and 20th-century alterations. The original section is constructed of box timber framing with painted brick nogging on a rendered plinth, while the west-facing addition is of brick with applied timber studding. The roof is thatched, with a brick ridge and a gable-end stack to the south, and a coped gable to the south. The farmhouse is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays in a lobby entrance plan. A 20th-century thatched porch with glazed sides sits over the original doorcase on the southwest elevation, and a 20th-century casement window is located to the north. Two adjoining casement windows are found on the south side. Above, a 20th-century casement window appears to the north and a glazing-bar casement to the south.

Inside, the original rooms contain large inglenook fireplaces. Upstairs, there is one original plank door with a wooden latch, and a large box-frame timber chimney breast.
