Description
Bartonfields (North) and the attached outbuilding is a farmhouse and outbuilding dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile hipped roof, with two brick ridge stacks and one side wall stack. The building stands three storeys tall, with the south elevation comprising three plus three bays. The left part is three storeyed and symmetrical, featuring a central doorway with a panelled door and overlight, flanked by 19th-century canted bay windows with parapets. Above these are three glazing bar sashes set under flat brick arches with keystones, and there are three smaller similar windows above. The lower three bays on the right include two glazing bar sashes under flat brick arches and a mid-19th-century tripartite plain sash under a segment head on the ground floor, with three glazing bar sashes above. The west elevation has glazing bar sashes to the right and tripartite casements under segment heads to the left. There is a lower range to the north with segment headed windows, and the attached outbuilding features a segment headed carriage arch surmounted by a low tower with a pyramid roof.
