Description
Number 78 and the attached outbuilding are a house and outbuilding dating from the late 18th century and the 20th century. The structure is made of red brick with brick dressings and features a plain tile roof with chamfered stone coped gables and moulded kneelers, brick gable stacks, and a dentilled eaves band. The house is three storeys high and has two bays, with a recessed single bay addition to the north.
The main entrance features a central doorcase with a flat arch that is covered by a bracketed hood, below which is a raised and fielded panelled door. On either side of the door are glazing bar sashes set under flat arches. Above the door, there are two similar sashes, and above those, there are two smaller sashes.
Attached to the northeast corner of the house is a later outbuilding that has stone coped gables and an early 19th-century rusticated basket-headed arch, which is topped by a 20th-century window.
