Description

The Vicarage is a mid-18th century building that was extended and altered in 1842, with further extensions in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with brick and stone detailing, featuring plain tile roofs, brick coped gables, and brick gable stacks, including an external stack on the north side. The mid-18th century section has a timber bracketed eaves cornice and a plain first floor band. The building is two storeys high with two bays, and there is a large three-bay addition at the rear.

The west front showcases the original house in the center, flanked by two almost full-height glazing bar sash windows beneath wedge lintels with incised voussoirs and double keystones. There is an area of disturbed brickwork between these windows where the original doorcase likely existed. Above, there are two similar windows to those below. On the north side of the original house, there is a segmental two-storey brick bay with no openings, while on the south side, there is a single-storey addition featuring a moulded early 19th-century doorcase on the south side and a small casement window under a segmental head on the west side. The rear wing has three glazing bar sash windows under segmental heads on the south side, with three similar windows above them. The interior was refashioned in 1842, including a stick baluster staircase and marble fire surrounds.
