Description
This is a house located at 58 Main Street, built in the early 18th century with early 19th-century additions and alterations. The structure is made of painted and rendered brick, featuring gauged brick dressings and a steeply pitched plain tile roof with gable brick stacks, the one on the south side being external. The building has plain bands on the first and second floors and consists of two storeys plus garrets, arranged in three bays, with a lower two-bay addition to the north.
The east elevation showcases a central glazed panelled door set beneath a flat brick arch, with a trellis-work porch above. On either side of the door are glazing bar sashes, also positioned under flat arches. The upper level features two similar sashes and a blocked central opening. Attached to the north is an early 19th-century addition that has a blank ground floor and two glazing bar sashes on the upper level. Inside, the house retains original cornices in the ground floor rooms and all original raised and fielded panelled doors.
