Description
49 Church Street is a house that dates from the early 18th century and early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a rendered brick exterior and a plain tile roof with brick gable stacks, including one on the west side and a stepped eaves band. The building has three storeys and three bays, with a low ground floor. The main front includes a gabled two-storey addition on the west side and a central panelled door beneath a bracketed porch roof. This door is flanked by a 3-light timber mullioned window to the west and a flat-roofed canted bay window with glazing bar sashes to the east. Above the door, there are two similar 3-light windows on either side of a central 2-light window. On the top floor, there are two early 19th-century segment-headed small pane 3-light casement windows. The gabled addition features a 3-light segment-headed casement window facing east on the ground floor. This building is included for its group value only.
