Description

Number 53 with outbuilding is a house and outbuilding, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century. The structure is made of roughcast stone and has a slate roof, while the outbuilding features a corrugated asbestos roof. The house is two storeys high and has two bays, with the first bay having a gabled roof. The outbuilding projects to the right.

On the ground floor, there are windows with 20th-century small-paned casements that have replaced the original sashes. The second bay features a bay window with a hipped roof. The first floor has sashed windows with single glazing bars and horns. The entrance includes a 20th-century panelled door. A corbelled gable-end stack has a rounded shaft. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a projecting gable-end stack that has set offs and a squat round shaft, along with casement windows. The outbuilding has large entrances at both the front and rear.
