Description
Cope is a house with an attached outbuilding, now serving as a dwelling. It is possibly from the 18th century, with alterations and the addition of the outbuilding occurring in the early 19th century. The facade is rendered, with random rubble on the returns, and pilaster quoin strips distinguish the right side of the house. The roof is covered with asbestos slate, and there are brick stacks at the gable ends and at the junction of the house and outbuilding. The building is two storeys high with a long facade featuring two bays on the left and three on the right. It has 16-pane sash windows, with ground floor 16-pane sash windows flanking the entrance on the right. There is a 20th-century window to the left of a half-glazed entrance on the left, which is accompanied by a 20th-century tiled and glazed porch. The entrance features a six-panel raised and fielded door that is part-glazed, with panelled reveals.
