Description

Number 118 and the attached outbuilding are a house and outbuilding located on Main Street in Sutton Bonington. The house dates from the mid 17th century and the outbuilding from the early 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick with a slate roof and features two brick gable stacks. The gables are coped with kneelers and the building is set on a plinth. There is a first floor band and a band over the first floor openings. The house is two storeys plus a garret and has three bays. The central doorway has an originally panelled door and an overlight, with single glazing bar sashes on either side. Above the doorway, there is a single central blocked opening flanked by tripartite glazing bar casements under segmental arches.

Projecting from the left side of the house is a single storey, single bay outbuilding made of whitewashed brick and covered with pantiles. This outbuilding has dentil eaves and is also set on a plinth, featuring a single window opening. At the rear of the house, there is a mid 17th century wing with a red brick gable stack and evidence of a wall plate.
