Description
Peel Cottage is a house located on Main Street in Sutton Bonington, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with heightening and alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with some sections featuring ashlar stonework, and has a slate roof. It has a single ridge red brick chimney and dentil eaves. The right side of the cottage is a single bay from the early 18th century, set on an ashlar plinth. The house is two storeys high, plus a garret, and has two bays. Each floor features two tripartite glazing bar Yorkshire sashes set under segmental arches. At the rear, there is a lean-to structure with a catslide roof, which shows evidence of some timber framing.
