Description

No. 92A Main Street and No. 1 Bucks Lane is a house that has been converted into a shop and cottage, dating from the mid-17th century. The building features a timber frame with red brick, which is rendered in some areas and whitewashed. It has a plain tile roof and a single red brick chimney stack at the rear. The structure is set on a plinth in some sections and has a gable end facing Main Street.

The building is two storeys high with a first-floor jetty and consists of three bays. The front includes a single tripartite shop window with a doorway to the right, which has a glazing bar door. Further to the right is a small glazing bar casement. Above this, there is a single tripartite glazing bar Yorkshire sash window. Notable timber features include a studded panel with a curved brace.

On the Bucks Lane side, from left to right, there is a doorway with a stable door, a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash, a doorway with a part-glazed door and two fixed lights. Above these, there are two casements with a single fixed light to the right, a doorway with a panelled door, a single casement, and on the far right, a single Yorkshire sash. Visible timber elements include eight posts, several rails, six braces, and a wall plate.

To the right, there is a whitewashed brick and slate wing with a red brick chimney stack on the left. This section has dentil eaves, is two storeys high, and consists of two bays. It features a single glazing bar casement and a blocked doorway to the right, with no openings on the first floor.
