Description
The barn, located at Number 143A on Main Street, Sutton Bonington, dates from the early and mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick with some blue brick detailing, along with rubble and render. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The early 18th-century section features brick coped gables with kneelers, some blue brick chequering and diaper work, and a rubble and brick/render plinth. A band runs around the building, which has been heightened above its original level. A lean-to addition is present on the right side, while the left side demonstrates a mid-18th-century build with a brick-coped left gable. The barn has a large central doorway with double plank doors, flanked by single pilaster buttresses.
