Description
17 Main Street is a house with attached outbuildings, dating from the 17th century, 18th century, and early 19th century. It is built of brick, some of which is painted, and has pantile roofs featuring three ridge stacks and a single gable stack. The building has a brick eaves cornice and is two storeys high.
The early 19th-century section consists of three bays, with a central doorway that has a 20th-century door framed by a painted stucco surround, complete with pilasters and an entablature above. On either side of the doorway are plain sash windows with white brick heads. Above, there are three similar windows, with the centre window being narrower.
To the left, there is a lower block that includes a single 20th-century door and a 20th-century fixed light to the left, along with a small sliding sash window above. Further along, there is a single-storey block featuring a glazing bar sash window, a part-glazed door, and a large fixed light with glazing bars.
