Description

The Ship Public House is an early to mid 19th century building located on Cliff Road in Sewerby. It stands two storeys tall with attics, constructed from red brick and topped with a pantile roof featuring two gabled dormers and stacks at the gable ends. The building has brick end pilasters and an eaves cornice. There are three windows with rusticated lintels and fluted keystones, all fitted with hung sashes that include glazing bars. The ground floor features two windows alongside a doorway that has plain pilasters, an entablature, and a cornice. The door has panelled reveals and is topped by a rectangular fanlight. To the left, there is a later extension that has similar windows.
