Description
The Courtyard Archway located to the northwest of Sewerby House is a mid-19th century structure designed in a classical style. It features a moulded round-arched entry that is framed by Doric pilasters and an entablature, with a blocking course raised in the center that displays a Greek key fret and a heraldic emblem. On either side of the archway, there are figures of dogs positioned on plinths. This archway is part of a group that includes Sewerby House, a terrace balustrade, an attached garden wall, the archway to Sewerby House, a conservatory, a stable block, an old laundry, the Gate House, and Lodge No. 16.
