Description
The Old Laundry at Sewerby House is a 18th-century building that was originally a stable block. It is two storeys tall and constructed of brick, featuring rusticated stone quoins. The façade has five windows and a prominent heavy rusticated entrance with a triple keystone. A central round-headed window, which has a heavily rusticated head, extends into the pediment at the roof level. The four ground floor windows have been altered since the building's conversion. The Old Laundry is part of a group that includes Sewerby House, a terrace balustrade, an attached garden wall, an archway to Sewerby House, a courtyard archway, a conservatory, the stable block, the old laundry, the Gate House, and the Lodge, No 16.
