Description
The Primitive Methodist Chapel is a Methodist chapel built in 1838, with later additions. It is constructed of red brick with brick dressings and features a plain tile roof adorned with terracotta ridge finials and a dentilled eaves band. The building is single storey and consists of two bays, with a later porch added to the south and a lean-to on the east side.
The central porch, added in the late 19th century, is gabled and has 20th-century double doors beneath a chamfered stone lintel. Flanking the porch are tall metal windows with semi-circular heads and small opening casements. Above the porch, there is a small stone plaque that reads 'Primitive Methodist Chapel 1838'. On the rear elevation, there are two pointed Gothic traceried metal windows. The lean-to on the east side features a plank door under a flat arched lintel with incised voussoirs. Inside the chapel, the original pews and pulpit remain intact.
