Description
Cheetham Arms Farmhouse is a public house that has been converted into a farmhouse. It was built in the early 19th century, with a later addition from the 19th century that matches the original style. The building is made of red brick, featuring brick and stone dressings, plain tile roofs, and brick gable stacks, along with a distinctive sawtooth eaves band.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two bays, with an additional two-bay section added to the west. The north elevation includes a central basket-arched stuccoed recess that houses a segment-headed doorcase with a 20th-century glazed door. Flanking this are 20th-century glazing bar sash-style casement windows, which sit beneath cambered brick heads. Above these, there are two shallower windows of the same style, along with a blank wooden signboard positioned between them.
To the west, there is a later wing that is slightly recessed. This wing features a 20th-century glazed door set beneath a wedge stone lintel on the east side, and a glazing bar sash window under a similar lintel on the west side. Above these, there are two 20th-century glazing bar sash-type casements, also set under wedge stone lintels.
