Description
Ivy Close Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse that was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with brick dressings and features a plain tile roof, complete with brick gable and ridge stacks. The building has a plinth, a plain band at the first floor, and a dentilled eaves band. It stands two storeys high with three bays.
The entrance on the east side has a raised and fielded panelled door, with the top two panels glazed and set under a segment head. To the east of the door is a three-light cross window with glazing bar casements, also under a segment head. There are two similar windows to the west of the door. On the upper floor, there are three three-light glazing bar casements under segment heads. The lower windows were deepened in the 19th century.
Inside, the central room features a large inglenook fireplace, and there is a full-height oak, raised and fielded panelled corner cupboard in the southern room. The staircase is located between the walls in the central room.
