Group Of Three Chest Tombs, About 3-4 Metres South And West Of Church Of St Michael

This is a group of three chest tombs located about 3 to 4 meters south and west of the Church of St Michael.

The first tomb, identified as (A), is situated 3 meters west of the west tower and dates from the early 18th century. It is made of Portland stone, features a ledger top, and has moulded inscription panels on the north and south sides, although the inscriptions are illegible.

The second tomb, (B), is located 4 meters southwest of the church porch and also dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from limestone, has a flat top, is partially sunk, and is somewhat damaged and overgrown at the time of survey.

The third tomb, (C), is found 3.5 meters south-southwest of the church porch and dates from the late 18th century. It is likely made of Doulting and Forest of Dean stone, features a flat top, a moulded cornice, and moulded inscription panels that are also illegible, and is partially sunk.
