House. Early C19. Red sandstone random rubble masonry, cement quoins and plinth, hipped slate roof, brick stacks right. Main elevation faces West onto garden, subsididry entrance on South side, Fore Street, where raised pavement (qv) contains service wing. 2-storeys over basement, 3 bays; 12 pane sash windows with central, hipped slate roof porch with 4 panel door and 6 pane side lights, 9-light returns. Right return elevation of 2 bays flanking Fore Street has blocked window above 6 panel door with 12 pane sash windows to left. Segmental headed opening just above pavement level with iron grill set into angle opening into pavement. All openings have rusticated cement surrounds. Spearhead design cast iron railings, early C19, set on low stone plinth enclosing garden on South front. Railings swept up to gate of similar design at South- east corner. Mansell House forms part of a group with Gages (qv) and Barbrook (qv) to the East and the three were reputedly built as one property.
