Description
Barbrook is a house dating from the early 19th century, constructed of red sandstone random rubble masonry with a cement plinth strip and a slate roof. It has a brick stack on the right side. The building is two stories high and has two bays. The first floor features 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has canted bay windows with sash windows that include glazing bars. There is a central recessed 20th-century door that has a rusticated cement surround with stepped voussoirs, which is echoed in the windows above. A random rubble retaining wall supports the raised pavement in front of Barbrook. This property forms a group with the nearby 6aiges and Mansell House, and it is believed that all were originally built as a single dwelling.
