Description
There are four unidentified chest tombs located about 1 meter south of the second and third aisle windows from the east in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. These tombs likely date from the mid-18th century and are made of limestone. They feature flat tops with moulded cappings, although the plinths are not visible on all of them. The tombs have lyre ends with high relief carving. At the time of the survey in November 1985, the two central tombs were in very poor repair and all were partially overgrown. The chest tomb to the west was in the best condition, showcasing an oval wreathed panel with flanking foliage or cherubs and skulls set into large moulded rectangular panels on both sides.
