Description

ATWORTH CHURCH STREET ST 86 NE (south side) 2/50 Three unidentified monuments in the churchyard between 1 and 5 metres east of chancel of Church of St Michael and All Angels GV II

Three chest tombs. C18. Limestone. South of group probably late C18 with fielded oval panel with egg and dart moulding, carved drapery, quarter balusters and fluted frieze to low weathered top. Large tomb to north has moulded plinth, oval panel on south side with scrolled carving and fielded pilasters, moulded flat top. North east tomb is early C18 with two recessed moulded panels and ogee-moulded heavy flat top; all three have illegible inscriptions.
