Description

There are three chest tombs located in the churchyard, between 1 and 5 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Michael and All Angels. These tombs date from the 18th century and are made of limestone. The southernmost tomb is likely from the late 18th century and features a fielded oval panel with egg and dart moulding, carved drapery, quarter balusters, and a fluted frieze on its low, weathered top. The large tomb to the north has a moulded plinth, an oval panel on the south side with scrolled carving, fielded pilasters, and a moulded flat top. The tomb in the northeast is from the early 18th century and has two recessed moulded panels along with an ogee-moulded heavy flat top. All three tombs have illegible inscriptions.
