Description
No. 103 on Church Street is a late 19th-century lodge that has been converted into a detached cottage. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with coped verges and a stone stack positioned to the right of the center. The building is single-storey with an attic and has two windows.
At the center, there is a two-storey porch that includes an elliptical chamfered archway and a planked door, along with a square hoodmould. On either side of the porch, there are two-light ovolo-mullioned casements, each with a hoodmould. The attic floor of the porch also has a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement for both the ground and attic floors.
To the right, there is a lean-to extension at ground level and an additional two-light attic casement. The original drive leading to Cottles House, which is now Stonar School, began at this location but is now closed. The Fuller family of Neston Park acquired Cottles in the 1870s and likely built this lodge.
