Description
The barn at Church Farm is a Grade II* listed building, likely dating from the 16th century. It is constructed of random rubble stone and features a concrete interlocking tiled roof with coped verges. The barn has seven bays, with 1½ bays separated off at the east end. On the north side, there is a large two-bay hipped porch, and to the left, a lean-to extension that includes a planked door and a two-light casement window. Above, there is a gabled dormer with a two-light casement on the first floor.
The rear of the barn has an opposing entry with double planked doors, and to the right, there is a three-light ovolo-mullioned casement window with a hoodmould on the ground floor, along with a gabled dormer featuring a two-light ovolo-mullioned casement. The barn is supported by buttresses with offsets. Inside, the barn has a notable roof structure, featuring crucks with arch-braced collars and two tiers of purlins, along with slightly curved windbraces. A rubble stone wall separates the two-storey east end from the main barn, and a floor has been inserted at the west end of the barn. Several triangular vents are visible from the interior.
