Description
Nos 3 and 5 Bargate Lane are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, featuring brick ridge and gable stacks. The cottages have a sawtooth eaves cornice and are two storeys high. The west elevation consists of four bays.
No 3, on the left, has a central doorway with a segmental head and a plank door. To the left of the doorway is a 2-light segmental headed casement window, and to the right is a similar 3-light window. Above, there is one 2-light casement window and a gabled dormer.
No 5, on the right, features a single central doorway, a 3-light segmental headed casement window to the left, and a 2-light segmental headed casement window to the right. There are two gabled dormers above this cottage.
