Description
Nos 43 and 45 Tamworth Street are a pair of cottages dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed of red brick, with some areas cement rendered, and feature a plain tile roof supported by two large rendered ridge stacks. The gables are brick coped with plain kneelers. A brick band runs along the first floor, and there is a dentil eaves cornice. The cottages are two storeys high and the north elevation has five bays.
No 43 has a central doorway with a segment head and a 19th-century panelled door, flanked by two 2-light casement windows with diamond pane leaded lights, also under segment heads. Above, there are two 2-light windows under flat arches. No 45 features a doorway with a segment head and a 20th-century door, with two segment-headed windows to the right that have 19th-century sashes. There are also two 2-light windows above under flat arches.
