Description

The Old Chapel, now used as commercial premises, dates from 1843. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and ashlar, topped with a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a three-bay west elevation that includes angle pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a blocking course. The central doorway has a lintel dated 1843 and a cornice supported by paired consoles, with panelled double doors. On either side of the doorway are glazing bar sash windows set in plain stone surrounds. Above, there are three round-arched glazing bar sashes, with a stone band connecting the impost blocks. The side elevations have similar window arrangements. At the west side, there are four stone piers with iron railings and gates attached.
