Description
This is an L-shaped range of cowsheds located 10 metres east of Roadnook Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with significant later alterations. The structure is built of coursed sandstone rubble with gritstone dressings and features asbestos sheet roofs with stone ridges. It has moulded stone copings and kneelers on the west and south sides, and a ridge finial on the west gable ridge. The cowsheds are single storey and consist of a north and east range. The east range includes a flush central doorcase that is partly blocked, and above it are the remains of a recessed and chamfered mullion window, with 20th-century openings on either side. The north range has three 20th-century doors. This building is included in the listing for its group value with the adjacent farmhouse.
