Description
Roadnook Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with a date inscribed as 1840. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone with gritstone dressings and quoins, topped with a slate roof that has a stone ridge. The gables are stone-coped with plain kneelers, and there are two brick stacks at the gable ends.
The building has three storeys and three bays. The central entrance features a flush quoined doorcase with a projecting keystone that is inscribed 'TWW 1840'. The door itself is a 20th-century glazed design. On either side of the door, there are three-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, with two similar windows located above. Over the door, there is a single light recessed and chamfered window, with another similar window directly above it. Additionally, under the eaves on either side, there are two-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows. All the windows have been replaced with 20th-century single pane casements.
