Description
Teapot Farmhouse and the attached barn are a farmhouse and barn combination dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century front and a large 20th-century addition at the rear. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble, with some remnants of quoins on the west side. It has a slate roof with a stone ridge, and features brick stacks at the ridge and east gable end.
The farmhouse is two storeys high with two bays, and there is a converted single-storey barn with three bays to the east. On the west side, there are two 19th-century recessed and chamfered mullion windows. The east side has a chamfered 19th-century doorcase that has been converted into a full-height window with a central 20th-century mullion. Above this, there are two similar 19th-century two-light windows.
The converted barn to the east has a 20th-century door in a 19th-century opening, a small 20th-century window, a large four-light 20th-century mullion window, and two tall three-light 20th-century mullion windows on the east side. The original 17th-century two-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows can still be seen on the west gable wall of the house.
