Description

ECCLESHALL GERRARDS BROMLEY 1. 5373 Range of outbuildings at west side of farmyard flanking gateway and range of cowsheds and barns on north side of farmyard (formerly listed as Barns at Bromley Hall) SE 73 SE 8/101 24.1.67

II* 2. Late C16 with some later alterations. A fine range of stone built farm buildings ranged around the north and west sides of the farmyard. West range, on either side of gate piers (q.v.) single storey with later brick facing at rear and with stone-coped gabled ends flanking gateway. North range of cowsheds has hay loft above and stone mullioned windows on north side. The east end contains crude plaster frieze depicting a hunting scene and terminates in a cross-wing with 2 cambered stone doorways, mullioned windows and containing original wood stable stalls for horses. Gables with stone ball finials; tiles.
