Description
BRAMPTON SK37SW PRATTHALL 1264-0/2/113 Cottage and attached outbuildings to SW side of lane, to NW of Pratt Hall GV II Cottage with attached outbuilding. C17, with C19 alterations and additions. Coursed rubble Coal Measures Sandstone, partially roughcast, with plain gables, and stone slate and concrete tile roof coverings. L-shaped plan, with the cottage forming a crosswing at the south-east end of the outbuilding and occupying its end bay. South-east elevation has 2-storeyed gable to south-west, with single-storey bay to the side. C20 planked door to junction of 2 ranges, with a 4-paned fixed light set in a larger opening with a channelled sill. Small-paned window to south-west of doorway, and then a further C20 window, and a second planked door. Tall 6-pane casement to first floor. Outbuilding range with 2 windows, one with a hopper frame, the other with a cast-iron frame, both below plain lintels. Off-centre doorway with plain planked door. Low single-storey addition to north-west. INTERIOR: Two cruck trusses to outbuilding part, both with collars and spur ties, one with purlin bearers on the backs of the cruck blades, formerly windbraced. Low cruck truss with collar to cottage part.
