Description
The ice house, located approximately 150 yards east of Locko Park, is an early 19th-century structure that has been converted into a folly. It is built of red brick and features a Gothick canted facade on the south side, which includes a doorway with a wooden lintel and a panelled gothic door. Each canted side has a pointed-arched alcove with a projecting sill and hoodmould. The building is topped with a crenellated parapet that rises to a gable in the center. Inside, there is a short passage leading to a circular domed chamber, which has been filled in to ground level. Additionally, a circular window and a chimney have been inserted into the structure.
