Description

This is a canal bridge located on Derby Road in Borrowash, built in 1795 and later repaired by engineer Benjamin Outram. The bridge is constructed of red brick with stone dressings. It features a single segmental brick arch resting on stone impost blocks, with a plain brick band above. The brick parapets are topped with chamfered stone copings. The walls on either side of the arch splay outwards and end in square piers. This bridge is notable as one of the few remaining structures from the Derby Canal after the canal was filled in.
