Description

Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with parts rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as some 20th-century additions. The structure features square panel timber framing with corner braces at the top and painted brick nogging, set on a deep stone plinth. The later additions are constructed in brick. The farmhouse has steeply pitched plain tile roofs on two levels, with brick gable stacks on the north side.

The main elevation consists of four bays, with the two northern bays having two storeys and the two southern bays having two storeys plus garrets. On the northern side, there is a 20th-century leaded casement window in the lower part, while the southern side features a large 20th-century lean-to with a 20th-century window, a 19th-century plank door, and a pair of adjoining glazing bar sash windows. Above this, there are two similar 20th-century casement windows on the northern side and a pair of small glazing bar sash windows over the 20th-century window on the southern side. The south gable wall facing the churchyard has a similar pair of sash windows on the first floor, and above them, there is a queen post truss with a high collar and a small horizontal sliding sash near the top. The rear of the farmhouse includes a gabled staircase turret surrounded by later additions.
