Description

Low Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with 19th-century additions. It features a timber frame and rubble construction with brick nogging, roughcast, and colourwashed surfaces. The roof is covered with 20th-century pantiles and includes hipped, gabled, and catslide sections, with a single ridge and two gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and consists of four bays, arranged in an L-plan with two gabled rear wings.

The windows are primarily 20th-century casements. The north and south gables, along with the northern rear wing, show remnants of corner posts. The west front has an off-centre close boarded door set in moulded jambs, with a glazing bar sash to the left and a casement and a plain sash to the right. Above this door, there are four casements. The north end features a glazing bar sash and a blocked door, while the south gable has a plain sash to the right and a casement above it.

On the east front, there is a plank door to the left, and to its right, the southern rear wing has a glazing bar sash with a Yorkshire sash above. Further right, a stair turret includes a casement and a plain sash, followed by a 20th-century brick porch and a casement. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered span beams and a 17th-century dogleg staircase with turned balusters and landings.
