Description
Caunton Common Farm House is a farmhouse dating from around 1800. It is built of brick and features a 20th-century pantile roof. The building has ashlar dressings, cogged eaves, coped gables, and three gable stacks. It is three storeys high and has an L-shaped plan with three bays.
The main west front showcases a central reeded doorcase with curved brackets supporting a dentillated open pediment. The door is a 20th-century addition with a corn shuck fanlight. On either side of the door are single canted 20th-century leaded bay windows with casements. Above the door, there are three glazing bar sash windows, and above those, a central blank panel flanked by smaller glazing bar sashes. The rear elevation features a single 20th-century casement window above.
A two-storey rear wing, which has two bays, is topped with a catslide roof and also has 20th-century windows. Inside, there is a dogleg stair with a landing, square newels, and stick balusters. The interior includes a single 19th-century wooden fireplace with columns, two fitted cupboards with panelled doors, and several 19th-century panelled doors.
