Description

Caunton Windmill is an early 19th century brick windmill. It has cogged eaves and blue brick banding. The structure comprises a battered round tower of four stages. Windows are 20th century casements with segmental heads. A stone staircase with a kennel underneath leads to a double door with a segmental head, situated on the north side of the first stage. The second stage has a single window to both the east and west, and putlog holes indicating the presence of a former gallery. The third stage has a single window to the east and west, a blocked door to the north, and a window within a blocked doorway to the south. On the fourth stage, there are single windows to the east and west.
