Description
No. 52 Sheffield Road is a mid-19th century building designed in the Gothic style. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features an old slate roof. The facade is symmetrical, with two outer coped gables that have finials, connected by a balustraded parapet also adorned with finials. The building stands three storeys tall and has five windows. The top floor windows are Gothic arched with two lights, while the first-floor windows have three lights with cusped arches and mullions. The ground floor includes a north window with four lights, where the two centre lights are angled to create a small bay. The central first-floor window is Gothic arched and has a balustrade, and the central door features a round arch supported by pillars, with a drip mould above that has corbels. All window and door dressings are finished in painted stucco.
