Description
Ashton Lodge is a building dating from around 1840. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features quoins and a band at the first floor. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and it has wide eaves. The building is two storeys high, with two unbarred sash windows on the first floor. The ground floor has stone bays topped with a cornice and parapet, with a central set of French casements and plain glazing on the sides. The facade facing Abercrombie Street includes a door with a rectangular fanlight, although the doorcase is now missing. Ashton Lodge is included for its group value with the other buildings at the entrance to Abercrombie Street.
