Description

Park Street Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 16th century, with elements from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone, with some areas rendered in cement. The front door features stone dressings, and the roof is made of pantiles, supported by three brick ridge stacks and a brick gable stack. The building is two storeys high and has a T-plan layout.

The west elevation consists of five irregular bays and includes an off-centre doorway with a moulded, keyed, round arch, along with impost and jamb blocks. To the right of the doorway, there is a 19th-century single bar sash window and a small 20th-century window. To the left, there is a 19th-century sash window set in a 17th-century chamfered opening, along with another 19th-century sash window. Above, there are three similar windows, and in the centre, a tall round-arched staircase window.

The rear elevation features a recessed bay that contains a 17th-century four-light recessed and chamfered mullion and transom window, along with the remains of a blocked mullion window above. The rest of the rear elevation primarily has 19th-century sash windows.

Inside, there is a late 16th-century decorative plaster overmantel with a geometric pattern, foliage, and fluted pilasters. The early 18th-century staircase has a closed string with turned balusters and a ramped handrail on the lower flight. There are also remains of 17th-century panelling, which is said to have originated from the church, along with exposed beams throughout the interior.
