Description
The lodge to Barlborough Hall is a mid-19th century building designed in the Tudor style. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a stone slate roof with a decorative octagonal ridge stack. The gables are stone coped and have moulded kneelers, topped with ball finials.
This single-storey building has a T-plan layout. The south elevation consists of three bays, highlighted by a deeply projecting gabled bay that includes a canted bay window with a configuration of 1-2-1 lights. The lights are pointed lancets set within chamfered square surrounds, featuring pierced spandrels. There is a moulded cornice and a blocking course above, along with a slit window that has a chamfered stone surround. To the left of the gabled bay is a similar two-light window. To the right, there is an extruded porch that is gabled to the east, featuring a deeply chamfered four-centred arched entrance. A single light window is located in the side wall of the porch, and another to the right. The gabled bay to the east also has a canted bay window similar to that on the south elevation.
