Description

This is a milepost dating from around 1840, made of cast iron. It has a triangular sectioned base, with the east side inscribed with the distances to Derby (5.5 miles) and Burton (17 miles), while the west side shows the distances to Alfreton (7.5 miles) and Chesterfield (18 miles). Above the base, there is a sloping triangular top with a triangular headpiece, which is inscribed with '132 LONDON'.
