Description
Nether Cottage and attached outbuildings is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof with brick gable stacks. The house has three bays and is two storeys high, while the attached outbuilding to the south is a single storey with two bays.
The house has a central doorcase with quoined edges, which contains a 19th-century plank door that is sheltered by a lattice work porch. On either side of the door, there are three-light flush mullion windows, with the outer lights of both windows dating from the 19th century. Above these, there are three 2-light flush mullion windows. Most of the windows have small pane casements or are fixed, except for the central window on the first floor, which features leaded lights from the 18th century. The attached outbuilding to the south has two doors beneath large 19th-century lintels and one 20th-century casement window located above to the north.
